KARACHI SUNDAY

Karachi never stops. Never stops to take a breath, never takes a break and ponder it's wondrousness,it just keeps going. It feels highly unplanned and lost, and that's just because it has not had a chance to stop and see how down on it's luck it is.

Walking through it feels like being in a slow motion collision. A City that's created lethal traps for humans all around it to fight back against it's own suicidal population or in a misguided attempt at population control. Live wires hiding behind corners, bad drivers with road rage, dengue fever, brain eating amoebas, malaria, political and poverty related violence and crime, it's a wonder it's still trudging along. That's because it has not had a moment to stop and consider itself.

I spent an afternoon considering it while walking around the Empress Market area on Sunday, a much needed day off for the city. On it's one day off, Karachi can finally take a few moments to pause, and at least observe itself. Here are some of the images I liked.

All shot with the Fuji X-T20.

'Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.'
